ROLE SUMMARY:

This position is dedicated to delivering high-quality Visual and Media Arts education to primary students within a collaborative and innovative learning environment. The purpose of this position is to inspire and unlock each student's potential, preparing them for future success through engaging and meaningful artistic experiences. In alignment with Reddam House’s educational philosophy, the role requires effective engagement with students, families, and colleagues.

 

Key responsibilities include teaching Visual Arts and coordinating the After School Art program, as well as overseeing art competitions.  You will bring a solid foundation in teaching, an in-depth understanding of the NESA syllabus, and a passion for nurturing the overall development of young learners

In 2026, we will expand our student body from 500 to 850, and in preparation for this exciting growth, we are seeking outstanding educators to join our team in a limited number of newly created positions to start in January.  This role is a part time position (equivelant to 3 days per week).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach Visual and Media Arts to Primary students in an innovative and collaborative environment.
  • Unlock students' true potential, preparing them for unlimited success.
  • Provide high-quality education, development, and care.
  • Engage effectively with students, parents, guardians, and colleagues, aligning with Reddam House’s educational philosophy.
  • Assist with the coordination of the After School Art program, art competitions and points.
  • Teaching Visual Arts to Kindergarten and Year 1 as well as Media Arts to Years 3-6.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A teaching degree with a minimum of four years of post-qualification experience, specialising in Visual and Media Arts or a closely related subject.
  • Experience with the NESA syllabus content.
  • High expectations and aspirations for all students.
  • A commitment to the overall development of young people.
  • An open-minded approach and willingness to learn and develop.
  • A demonstrable passion for teaching and a proven track record.
  • Possesses calm, warm, and professional demeanour. Maintains a composed, approachable, and professional attitude in all interactions.
  • Upholds ethical standards and maintains confidentiality in all professional dealings.
  • Respects and values the diversity of students and their families, ensuring inclusive and culturally sensitive practices.
  • Demonstrates a dedication to ongoing professional development and reflection and staying current with best practices in psychology and education.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
  • Accreditation with NESA.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

  • A valid Working with Children Check.
  • Provide lunch & playground cover and assist with pick up & drop off duties.
  • Willingness to attend school events outside regular hours as required (e.g., performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.)
