ROLE SUMMARY:
The Kindergarten Teacher at Reddam House is dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of young learners, guiding them through the critical early years of education. This role involves creating a dynamic, play-based learning environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills across all areas of development.
You will will implement innovative and evidence-based teaching methods tailored to individual learning needs, helping each child build confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement daily and term-based lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards to support holistic child development.
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction across key learning areas including literacy, numeracy, science, arts, and physical education.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment that encourages exploration, play, and active learning.
- Incorporate creative activities such as storytelling, music, art, and movement to stimulate student interest and expression.
- Emphasise hands-on, play-based learning experiences that promote curiosity, discovery, and problem-solving.
- Integrate educational technologies and interactive tools to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those requiring additional support.
- Establish and maintain positive behaviour expectations and routines that build respect, cooperation, and a sense of belonging.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and observations to monitor student progress and inform targeted teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and families to support student learning, well-being, and development both in and out of the classroom.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience working with young children, with a deep understanding of child development principles and early learning frameworks.
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to engage all learners, utilising creative methods such as music, drama, art, and outdoor learning.
- Excellent ability to communicate effectively with young children, colleagues, and parents, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with differentiating instruction and supporting children with diverse needs, including those with learning differences or additional support requirements.
- Comfort with integrating technology into teaching practices, using tools to enhance both learning and administrative tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A recognised teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood or Primary) or equivalent.
- Accreditation with NESA (New South Wales Education Standards Authority).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Provide lunch & playground cover and assist with pick up & drop off duties.
- Willingness to attend school events outside regular hours as required (e.g., performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.).
