ROLE SUMMARY:
The Stage Coordinator plays a vital role in leading the academic design, structure and implementation of the stage-specific curriculum for students within their designated year groups. This position is integral to fostering a supportive, inclusive and differentiated environment at Reddam House, where each student’s emotional, social, and academic needs are prioritised. The Stage Coordinator collaborates with the Year Coordinators, Subject Coordinators and school leadership to proactively nurture a positive school culture, ensuring that students feel supported, extended and empowered to thrive.
The Stage Coordinator position will be an additional responsibility alongside your current teaching role. Appropriate allowance will be made in your timetable to support you in carrying out the responsibilities of the role.
Given the current and anticipated growth of the school and the increasing number of classes, the Stage Coordinator position will be offered as a fixed-term contract for 2026. As the school continues to grow and reaches full capacity, we anticipate that the structure of stage and year coordination roles may evolve accordingly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Academic Rigour and Stage Development - Create a supportive academic environment for students. Collaborate with Year Coordinators and Subject Specialists to develop learning strategies using student feedback and data. Maintain regular student check-ins to foster communication and identify early concerns.
- Proactive Communication and Incident Response - Act as the main contact for academic matters, ensuring consistent communication with students, parents, and staff. Respond to incidents professionally, document them accurately, and follow up in line with school policy.
- Coordination of Events and Academic Activities - Plan and deliver stage-specific curriculum content and events. Manage logistics and compliance, liaise with external providers, and coordinate with staff to ensure smooth execution of academic activities.
- Academic Support and Reporting Oversight - Set up and manage the Mark-Book in iSAMS. Oversee report finalisation, ensuring accuracy and addressing special cases. Support students with academic challenges and coordinate interventions. Review prizegiving materials for accuracy.
- Collaboration and Teamwork - Participate in meetings with key staff to address academic needs and student development. Work with tutors and counsellors to identify behavioural trends and support teachers with procedures and admin tasks.
- Commitment to Confidentiality and Inclusivity - Uphold confidentiality and respect privacy policies. Promote inclusivity and cultural sensitivity in all interactions, fostering acceptance within the school community.
- School Representation and Community Engagement - Attend school events as a year group representative, building relationships with families and partners. Represent Reddam House’s values in all professional engagements.
- Support for School Leadership - Assist school leaders in implementing initiatives and policies that enhance student experiences. Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in academic leadership roles or student coordination roles within an educational setting, preferably with direct responsibility for curriculum initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and responding to crises or incidents with a calm, empathetic approach, with knowledge of conflict resolution and mediation techniques.
- Strong organisational skills, particularly in coordinating events and managing multi-stakeholder logistics effectively.
- Advanced communication skills with the ability to engage meaningfully with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity when handling personal or sensitive information

QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant teaching qualifications and registration.
- Certifications in Mental Health First Aid, trauma-informed education, or other pastoral care training are highly desirable.

- Willingness to participate in professional development related to pastoral care, child psychology, and well-being.
- Commitment to school events outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
