ROLE SUMMARY:

As the newest member of our co-educational, non-denominational, independent school network, Reddam House North Shore continues the tradition of inspiring students to reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking passionate and experienced Instrumental Music Specialists and Ensemble Conductors to join our new music department. This exciting opportunity builds on the established success of our programme, with a collaborative approach to music education that balances academic excellence with artistic achievement. Our music department will play a central role in delivering the very best in music pedagogy and performance, engaging students throughout both Primary and High School.

You will have the chance to help shape a flourishing music program from the ground up while benefiting from the established practices and renowned excellence of Reddam House's performing arts program.
We are inviting expressions of interest for teachers of all instruments and conductors for a range of ensembles. Our new department will offer extensive opportunities for students, and we are looking for specialists in the following areas


Instrumental Teachers

  • Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
  • Woodwind: Clarinet, Flute, Oboe, Saxophone, Bassoon
  • Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Lower Brass
  • Voice (Singing)
  • Piano
  • Percussion: Drums and Orchestral Percussion
  • Guitar
  • Composition & Music Theory


Ensemble Conductors

  • Choirs (Choral Conductors)
  • Jazz Bands/Ensembles
  • String Ensembles, Orchestras, & Chamber Music
  • Concert Bands & Brass Ensembles
  • Orff Percussion Ensembles
  • Keyboard/Synthesiser Ensembles & Piano Duets
  • Rock Bands

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Proven expertise in instrumental/vocal teaching and/or ensemble direction
  • A passion for music education and nurturing student talent
  • Experience working with students of various age groups (both primary and high school)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Organisational and administrative abilities to effectively manage lesson schedules, ensemble rehearsals, and student progress
  • A commitment to staying current with the latest developments in music teaching practices and pedagogy
  • High-level performance skills and the ability to inspire excellence in students
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality education and artistic development
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Classroom teaching qualifications are not required
