The School Sport Coach plays a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive sporting culture within the Reddam House school community. This position is responsible for developing students’ athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship through structured training sessions and competitive opportunities. The coach will support students in achieving their personal best, promote healthy lifestyles, and contribute to the overall wellbeing and engagement of students through sport. By aligning with the school’s values and educational goals, the Sport Coach helps create a safe, motivating, and respectful environment where students can thrive both on and off the field.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivery of training sessions. 
  • Arrive at training and matches well before your players. 
  • In preparation for matches and training organise all of the gear needed. 
  • Ensure you always prepare a constructive plan for both training sessions and matches. 
  • Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and participation among students. 
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including child safety and wellbeing guidelines. 
  • Attend relevant induction and training sessions as required. 
  • Experience participating in school or community sports. 
  • Volunteering or assisting in coaching roles.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • A valid Working with Children Check. 
  • A willingness to attend sporting events outside regular hours as required. 
  • Completion of Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated interest and involvement in school or community sport. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with young people. 
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g., First Aid, Child Protection, Coaching Accreditation).
