ROLE SUMMARY:
Northfields International School is a premier independent co-educational day school in Mauritius that provides an English-medium education for over 1300 boys and girls aged between 18 months and 18 years. The Northfields campus in Labourdonnais is situated on owned freehold property and incorporates numerous subject classrooms, dedicated science labs, computer suites, art studios, a design and Special Education Needs (SEN) and English as an additional language (EAL) support room. Northfields offers internationally recognised educational programmes and qualifications for Cambridge and the International Baccalaureate. The curriculum progression in the school begins with Regio Emelia Pre-Nursery, followed by the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Students from the Primary School may progress to Secondary School, where they follow the 5-year Cambridge curriculum in Years 7-11, culminating with the Cambridge IGCSE examination at the end of Year 11. Students in Sixth Form then follow the 2-year IB Diploma Programme (DP) or Cambridge A level.
Apart from being an authorised IB World School, the quality of Northfields is further bolstered through the school’s accreditation with the Council of International Schools (CIS) and membership with the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA). Northfields is registered and licensed in Mauritius with the Ministry of Gender Equality & Welfare for our Pre-Nursery, with the Early Childhood Care and Education Authority (ECCEA) and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources for the Primary School and the Private Secondary Education Authority (PSEA) for our Secondary School.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge all students and are in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements. You will individualise and differentiate learning, ensuring each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
- Supporting and Assessing Progress: Regularly assess students' in-class and at-home learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students are challenged and supported in reaching their potential.
- Building a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a classroom and school environment where students are invested in each other's flourishing, feel valued and supported, and are ready to take risks in their learning.
- Collaborating and Sharing Best Practices: Work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices, collaborating with colleagues, and dedicating yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education for our students.
- Contributing to School Life: Play an active role in the school's co-curricular programme, helping to create a well-rounded, enriching educational experience. From leading clubs to contributing to whole school initiatives, you will help shape the broader life of the school.

- Experience in providing pastoral care and promoting student wellbeing, with a strong focus on individual attention and high standards of welfare.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively with colleagues and independently and a track record of establishing strong, positive relationships with families.
- A commitment to their own continuous professional development.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to plan and prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent, with excellent academic credentials and, ideally, evidence of post-graduate study.
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, flexible, and resourceful approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
