KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, play-based activities that support early communication, sensory exploration, and social–emotional growth.
-
Establish warm, trusting relationships with young children, helping them settle, feel secure, and build confidence in their early routines.
-
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times, following safeguarding and Early Years best practice.
-
Observe and record developmental milestones, sharing insights with parents and colleagues to support each child’s progress.
-
Work collaboratively with the Early Years team to ensure smooth transitions, consistent routines, and a positive, child-centred environment.
-
Communicate warmly and professionally with parents, supporting strong home–school partnerships.
-
Contribute to Early Years events, initiatives, and continuous improvement within the department.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
-
A recognised Early Years qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3, Early Years Educator, PGCE with Early Years focus, or equivalent).
-
Experience working with very young children (18 months–2 years) in a nursery, daycare, or early childhood setting.
-
A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting early development.
-
A strong understanding of child development and the importance of play-based, sensory-rich learning.
-
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
-
A commitment to contributing to a caring and stimulating Early Years environment.
