ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College Murcia is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and creative Whole School Music Teacher to join our vibrant community from late August 2026. This exciting role offers the opportunity to inspire students across all age groups, fostering a lifelong appreciation of music while contributing to the school’s rich performing arts culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality music lessons across primary and secondary phases.

  • Develop students’ musical skills through practical, theoretical, and performance-based learning.

  • Lead and support extracurricular music activities, including choirs, ensembles, concerts, and school productions.

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages participation and confidence in music.

  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the school’s performing arts provision and contribute to whole-school events.

  • Manage resources effectively, ensuring the music department is well-equipped and organised.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

  • Strong musical expertise, with the ability to teach across different age groups and abilities.

  • Experience in leading musical ensembles or performances (school-based or external).

  • Excellent instrumental or vocal skills, and confidence in directing groups.

  • A creative and energetic approach to engaging students in music.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative mindset.

  • A commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive musical culture within the school community.
