ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspirational Primary Teacher to join our team at the International School of Monza. Nestled in the heart of Monza, the school offers the perfect location near Milan, the stunning Italian lakes, and ski resorts. With around 320 students from nearly 40 nationalities, aged 2.5 to 18, we are an International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum school dedicated to delivering the IB programmes authentically and embracing the IB’s Learner Profile.
We are looking for candidates who are highly qualified, fluent in English, and passionate about supporting both the academic and personal development of young people. While prior IB experience is not essential, candidates should have a strong commitment to inquiry-based, experiential learning and hold appropriate qualifications to teach primary students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to primary students of varying ages and abilities.
- Take primary responsibility for the well-being, care, and academic progress of students in the assigned class.
- Mark, assess, and provide constructive feedback, maintaining accurate records of student progress.
- Adapt lessons to meet individual student needs, including providing additional support or challenge.
- Foster positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
- Actively participate in curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessments in alignment with the IB ethos.
- Support extracurricular activities, school events, and trips, contributing to the wider school community.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider community to promote student success.
- Engage in professional development, staying updated on best practices and innovations in education.
- Represent the school positively, both in person and online, to various stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and confidentiality policies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Qualifications:
- Relevant teaching qualifications.
- Postgraduate qualifications (desired).
- Ability to teach an additional subject (desired).
Experience:
- Proven success in teaching, with the ability to assess learning against national or international standards.
- Experience with IB programmes (desired).
- Participation in extracurricular activities and trips (desired).
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organisational, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in ICT to support teaching and learning.
- A collaborative mindset, flexibility, and a good sense of humour.
