ROLE SUMMARY:

The International School of Monza is seeking a warm, proactive, and child-centred Early Years Assistant to join our Early Years team from January or as soon as possible. The successful candidate will support high-quality learning through play, contributing to a nurturing environment where children feel safe, engaged, and inspired. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood education, ideally with experience in inquiry-based or international settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning environments, materials, and resources.
  • Supervise and engage with children during class activities, outdoor play, and transitions.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families.
  • Contribute to the wellbeing, safety, and pastoral needs of all students.
  • Support the documentation of learning when required.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, planning sessions, and professional development.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Experience working with children aged 2–5 in an early years educational setting.
  • A child-centred approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good level of English (the working language of the school).
  • Eligibility to work in Italy.
  • A positive, flexible, and collaborative approach to supporting young learners.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in an international school or IB PYP Early Years environment.
  • Early Years qualifications or childcare certifications.
