ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking an exceptional Teacher Assistant to join the vibrant learning community at American Institute of Monterrey (AIM) – Chipinque Campus, a leading international school recognised for its commitment to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and holistic development. Located in a privileged natural setting in San Pedro Garza García, AIM Chipinque offers a dynamic and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to become confident, independent, and globally minded learners.

 

The Teacher Assistant supports the Teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences and fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment. This role involves working closely with students to provide individual or small group support, assisting with classroom management, preparing resources, and contributing to the overall well-being and academic progress of all pupils. The Teaching Assistant upholds SEP requirements, AIM’s curriculum, Inspired’s educational philosophy, and the school’s safeguarding standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Help integrate technology and resources into classroom activities.
  • Supervise students safely during transitions, recess, meals, and other non-classroom times as assigned.
  • Encourage student independence and active participation in learning activities.
  • Support the Teacher in monitoring student progress.
  • Assist with marking, record-keeping, and preparing learning materials.
  • Provide informal feedback on student progress to the Teacher.
  • Contribute observations and insights to inform instructional planning.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and report any concerns immediately.
  • Assist in managing behaviour effectively under the Teacher’s guidance.
  • Model respectful and responsible behaviour for students.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Certificate or diploma in Education, Child Development, or a related field (required).
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred).
  • Experience supporting SEN, ELL, or diverse learners (an advantage).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in educational technology tools.
  • Technically proficient and willing to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • High proficiency in English.
  • Spanish proficiency is desirable.
  • Child safeguarding certification (preferred).
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to support diverse student needs in a positive and inclusive manner.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
