ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking an exceptional Payroll Supervisor who brings creativity, strategic thinking, and strong human resources expertise to support our growing school community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating the SUA (Sistema Único de Afiliación) to submit new hires, terminations, and salary changes to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
- Preparing salary proposals based on the vacant position and candidate experience.
- Managing Infonavit and Fonacot housing loans, deducting corresponding installments from employees and remitting payments to the institutions.
- Calculating and remitting employer-employee Social Security contributions.
- Filing state tax declarations applicable to Wingate, requiring accounting knowledge.
- Processing severance settlements for termination, succession, or voluntary separation.
- Handling INSS audits by providing electronic accounting records, trial balances, and reconciliations that tie payroll to accounting. Additional duties encompass:
- Signing contracts, salary offers, and severance agreements directly with staff.
- Overseeing that another area maintains complete employee files.
- Managing the attendance system to record absences and tardiness.
- Authorizing extra earnings or overtime payments when applicable.
- Administering major medical, auto, and life insurance coverage currently handled by Majo but potentially returning to this role.
- Verifying foreign employees' immigration status and processing employer changes with immigration authorities when required. The position requires on-site presence in Monterrey for document signing and audit responses, with English proficiency valued for interacting with international systems and documentation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Public-accounting knowledge to prepare state-tax declarations and reconcile payroll against the general ledger.
- Hands-on experience with the SUA portal for IMSS filings (new hires, terminations, salary adjustments) and with Infonavit/Fonacot loan management.
- Proficiency in Mexican payroll systems (currently Compact, soon to be replaced) and ability to adapt quickly to new platforms that will integrate with SuccessFactors
- Solid grasp of labor-law severance rules to calculate and issue finiquitos correctly.
- Skill in assembling electronic accounting packages, trial balances, and payroll-to-GL reconciliations for INSS auditors.
- Knowledge of immigration procedures to validate work permits and process employer changes for foreign staff without triggering penalties.
- Familiarity with SAT e-signature protocols and data-privacy standards to handle confidential payroll information securely.
- Proactive organizational ability to track employee files, attendance records, and extra-earning authorizations while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
