ROLE SUMMARY:
The American Institute of Monterrey (AIM) is a leading private international school in Mexico, offering a high-quality bilingual education to students aged 2 to 18 across three campuses. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to support the day-to-day management of campus operations, including maintenance, security, general services, and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for coordinating operational activities, overseeing service providers and contractors, supporting project execution, and ensuring the effective delivery of operational plans across the organisation.
The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to maintain safe, efficient, and well-managed facilities while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the daily operations of maintenance, security, and general services to ensure the smooth running of campus facilities.
- Monitor and follow up on service requests and operational requirements, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, ensuring work is completed according to established schedules.
- Coordinate internal resources, contractors, and external service providers to support operational needs and project delivery.
- Track operational performance indicators and report deviations, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support the execution of infrastructure and campus improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate contractors and suppliers throughout project implementation and monitor project deliverables and progress.
- Maintain regular communication with maintenance, security, and service supervisors to align priorities and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Assist with budget tracking, purchase orders, cost control activities, and operational reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, civil protection requirements, and risk prevention initiatives while supporting continuous improvement, digitalisation, and process optimisation efforts.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in operations, facilities management, maintenance, project coordination, or a related operational environment.
- Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, and third-party service providers.
- Proven experience supporting projects, budgets, and operational planning activities.
- Previous experience in educational, corporate, or multi-site environments (preferred).
- Working knowledge of project management, preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, and vendor management.
- Experience with budget monitoring, cost control processes, and purchase order management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced) and experience using work order or maintenance management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, plans, and project-related information.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, effective communication skills, adaptability, customer service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
