ROLE SUMMARY:

AIM Valle is seeking a caring, proactive and collaborative IPAL Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs. Working closely with the IPAL Teacher, Homeroom Teachers and academic team, the successful candidate will help implement personalized learning strategies that promote students’ academic progress, independence, inclusion and emotional well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support students individually and in small groups, following the strategies and goals established in their personalized learning plans.
- Assist the IPAL Teacher and classroom teachers in implementing differentiated activities, accommodations and learning interventions.
- Provide in-class support to help students participate successfully in lessons and school activities.
- Prepare and adapt learning materials according to students’ individual needs.
- Reinforce academic, social, behavioral and self-regulation skills under the guidance of the IPAL Teacher.
- Observe students’ participation and progress and share relevant information with the IPAL Teacher and academic team.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
- Help maintain an inclusive, respectful, organized and safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists and other members of the school community.
- Participate in relevant meetings, training sessions and school activities.
- Maintain student confidentiality and follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A bachelor’s degree, or ongoing studies, in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Psychopedagogy or a related field.
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or learning-support environment.
- An interest in inclusive education and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- The ability to follow individualized strategies and instructions consistently.
- Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills.
- A patient, caring, responsible and proactive approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Flexibility and willingness to support students in different classroom settings.
- English proficiency appropriate for working in a bilingual school environment.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
