ROLE SUMMARY:
The American Institute of Monterrey (AIM) is a leading private international school in Mexico, offering a high-quality bilingual education to students aged 2 to 18 across three campuses. At AIM we serve students from Preschool to Grade 9, delivering a U.S.-accredited curriculum alongside programmes in academics, arts, sports, and technology within a modern, well-equipped environment. AIM Huasteca is seeking an enthusiastic German Teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality language instruction. The successful candidate will help students develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging German lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
- Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills according to their age and proficiency level.
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources and technology to support different learning needs.
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive and timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments and academic progress.
- Adapt lessons and provide additional support or challenge when required.
- Promote student participation, confidence and enthusiasm for learning German.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school leaders regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in meetings, training, school events and wider school activities.
- Follow the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, and professional conduct policies.

- In-depth expertise in and passion for their subject and the ability to inspire students and support outstanding progress.
- Expertise in assessing student progress, providing targeted feedback, and enhancing student performance, including in external assessments.
- Experience in providing pastoral care and promoting student wellbeing, with a strong focus on individual attention and high standards of welfare.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively with colleagues and independently and a track record of establishing strong, positive relationships with families.
- A commitment to their own continuous professional development.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to plan and prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent, with excellent academic credentials and, ideally, evidence of post-graduate study.
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, flexible, and resourceful approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT:
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, German, Modern Languages or a related field.
- A teaching qualification or relevant teacher training.
- Fluency or advanced proficiency in German.
- Previous experience teaching German to children or teenagers.
- Strong classroom management and lesson-planning skills.

- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.

- Experience working in an international or bilingual school environment is desirable.
