ROLE SUMMARY:
Founded in 1989, Blue Valley is a private, bilingual, Pre-K through 12th-grade school with over 800 students that offers a challenging combination of Costa Rican and International curricula promoting technology, the arts, and physical wellbeing.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Ministry of Public Education Officer for July 2025. The MEP Officer is responsible for ensuring the school complies with the requirements and guidelines set forth by the Ministry of Education of Costa Rica. This includes managing all documentation, certifications, and transcripts related to student academic records. The role also involves attending meetings and maintaining close communication with the Ministry to ensure the school meets all legal, academic, and administrative standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Monitor and ensure the school adheres to the Ministry of Education's regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Prepare and submit reports to the Ministry as required.
- Keep updated on any changes in the Ministry’s rules and regulations, ensuring the school complies accordingly.
- Prepare and issue official transcripts for students.
- Maintained accurate and up-to-date academic records for all students.
- Handle requests for official documents, including transcripts, certificates, and diplomas, ensuring all documentation meets the Ministry’s guidelines.
- Serves as the primary point of contact between the school and the Ministry of Education.
- Communicate any updates or changes from the Ministry to school administration and staff.
- Attend meetings, training, or workshops organized by the Ministry to stay informed on new policies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an administrative role within an educational institution.
- Experience working with the Ministry of Education or similar governmental agencies is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Costa Rica's education laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in office software (Word, Excel, etc.) and student management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
