ROLE SUMMARY:

International School of Milan (ISM), world-renowned for academic excellence and student leadership, is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspiring and ambitious professional to the position of Summer Camp Residential Monitor to join our camp team on a temporary basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report directly to the Summer Camp Boarding Coordinator.
  • Ensure excellent pastoral care of Boarding and Day students on camp, including physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and discipline. 
  • Make sure students follow all boarding and school procedures correctly, such as, but not limited to: signing in and out, mealtime, bedtime, medications and night-time procedures, etc…
  • Make sure students are never left unattended within the camp and during offsite excursions.
  • Collaborate with the Camp Director and the Deputies during the camp and communicate any issues immediately.
  • Chaperone the students on offsite excursions, following safety instructions from the course Director/ Deputies.
  • Attend all staff meetings.
  • Be ready to participate in evening activities.
  • Be responsible for the materials provided for the school for any activity organised.
  • Be prepared to support non-residential FAD (Fashion, Art & Design) Staff during the day camp courses.
  • Keep all areas clean and tidy.
  • Working hours to include evening activity duties with some boarding ‘late’ duties and some ‘overnight’ duties required.
  • Be on call if there is an incident, fire, intruder, or any other emergency. 
  • Responsible for first aid and health issues for all campers, alongside the Deputies, Camp Director and nurse. 
  • On Sundays and Saturdays of arrival/departure of campers, the entire camp staff is on duty, for welcoming families and airport transfers.
  • Work rotation system and flexible timetable.
  • Be ready to assist as needed, understanding that residential monitors may occasionally be called upon to cover duties or handle unexpected situations around the clock.

GENERAL ISM STAFF DUTIES AND QUALITIES:

  • Adhere to International School of Milan (ISM Staff Handbook) policies.
  • Attend Training Days/planning sessions before Camp begins.
  • Arrive on the agreed start date (TBC).
  • Be a good team player, working collaboratively.
  • Complete online child safety training via Educare before Camp.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and appearance.
  • Follow fire, health, and safety regulations.

Language

English: Advanced or Proficiency (C1-C2).

CONTRACT:

  • Period: Thursday 26th June - Saturday 26th July 2025. Training Days: 26th-28th June. Summer Camp:
    • Session 1: 29th June - 11th July.
    • Session 2: 12th - 26th July.
  • Salary: €2440 gross (entire period). Reimbursement: Up to €100 for flight/train tickets. Included: Accommodation, meals, accident insurance. Day Off: 1 full day and 1 night off per week.
