ROLE SUMMARY:
This role is instrumental in guiding and supporting students through their career exploration and university application processes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering our dynamic secondary school careers programme, leading engaging sessions designed to inspire students. This position also involves forging strong links with universities and employers to enhance opportunities for students and to ensure they are well-prepared for their post-secondary journeys.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Design and deliver an engaging and comprehensive secondary school careers curriculum, focusing on key areas for Years 10 and 11 pupils, including post-16 and post-18 pathways, employability skills development, CV writing, interview preparation, and career exploration techniques.
● Provide personalised one-to-one career guidance, helping students identify their strengths, interests, and career aspirations. This will include the administration of Morrisby Testing for students in Years 10, 11, and 12, with flexible testing options.
● Organise and facilitate careers seminars, industry talks, and interactive workshops, thereby providing students with valuable insights into various professions and sectors.
● Enrol, monitor, and assess the progress of students in Unifrog, offering tailored feedback and essential resources to empower them in making informed career choices.
● Stay informed of the latest developments in higher education, employment trends, and local testing criteria to ensure students receive the most accurate and relevant information.
● Develop and implement innovative career resources, including job shadowing programmes, work experience placements, and effective career assessment tools, to enrich student learning experiences.
● Collaborate closely with teaching staff, parents, and external stakeholders to cultivate a supportive and informed careers guidance framework. Liaise effectively with Colonna and Caviglia staff as appropriate to signpost ongoing careers offerings at St Louis.
● Occasionally participate in evening or weekend events, such as university fairs and career seminars, to ensure visibility and awareness of available career resources.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
● A relevant qualification and demonstrable experience in careers guidance, education or a related field.
● Strong understanding of post-16 and post-18 pathways, including university admissions processes and vocational education options.
● Experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational or mentoring capacity, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their unique needs.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage and motivate students, parents, and external partners.
● A proactive and innovative mindset towards career development, fostering meaningful opportunities for students.
● A commitment to providing an inclusive, student-centred approach to careers education that aligns with the values of our institution.
● The ability to teach another subject is desirable but not essential.
