Maths Teacher

ROLE SUMMARY:

To start in April 2026 ISM is seeking to appoint a talented, well-qualified, and inspirational Teacher of MYP Mathematics to join our secondary school faculty. The role involves teaching IB MYP Mathematics, supporting also with IBDP classes. Candidates should be a well-qualified educators with significant experience in teaching Mathematics, committed to high standards, able to demonstrate an innovative and imaginative approach to teaching and learning, display a willingness to be involved in all aspects of departmental development and be a dedicated team player who strives for excellence and leads by example. An understanding of how to develop students whose first language is not English will be important. This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of a successful and growing IB teaching team.

The School:

Founded in 1958, ISM caters for over 900 students from more than 60 nationalities. Our campus, which opened in September 2013, incorporates a theatre, swimming pool and full-size gymnasium as well as specialist classrooms, labs, libraries, arts and music areas. All of our sections are fully authorised for International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes – Primary Years Programme (PYP) from Kindergarten to Grade 6; Middle Years Programme (MYP) from Grades 7 to 11; Diploma Programme (DP) in Grades 12 and 13. ISM is the most established IB world school in Italy and has an excellent record of results in the Diploma averaging 34/35 points. In addition, we opened our Boarding school in 2018 which has added immensely to the sense of family at ISM.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hold an EU passport / have the right to live & work in Italy
• Appropriate degree and teaching certification
• Outstanding classroom results and experience with external exam preparation
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience
• Experience of working with the IB curriculum
• A passion for education and working with students
• A willingness to participate in the development of the High School
• A desire to contribute and foster a positive IB learning community
• Ability to work as a team member within a department and in an interdisciplinary team
• Commitment to the IB standards and practices and to the IB Learner Profile
• Superior communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred

• Experience in an international or multicultural school
• Experience of working with students who have English as an Additional Language
