IB Business Studies and IGCSE Economics Teacher

The Commerce Department is dynamic, collaborative and supportive. It consists of 5 highly experienced IB Business Management and IB/IGCSE Economics subject specialists that cater to multiple classes of high achieving learners. IGCSE Economics is offered in Y10 and this serves as a good foundation for IB Business Management in Y12 both at the Standard and Higher Level. The team values collaboration and participation in the creation and sharing of interactive resources for in class teaching and assessments.

ROLE SUMMARY

St Louis High School is seeking to appoint a talented, well-qualified, and inspirational Teacher of Economics and Business Studies, to start in September 2025. The role involves teaching Cambridge IGCSE Economics, and Economics and Business Studies at IB Diploma level.

Candidates should be well-qualified educators with significant experience in teaching IB Business Management and IGCSE Economics committed to high standards, able to demonstrate an innovative and imaginative approach to teaching and learning, display a willingness to be involved in all aspects of departmental development and be a dedicated team player who strives for excellence and leads by example. Being able to inspire children to achieve their potential and enjoy the study of IB Business Management and IGCSE Economics.

An understanding of how to develop students whose first language is not English will be important.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hold an EU passport / have the right to live & work in Italy
• Appropriate degree and teaching certification
• Outstanding classroom results and experience with external exam preparation
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience
• Experience of working with the IB curriculum
• A passion for education and working with students
• A willingness to participate in the development of the High School
• A desire to contribute and foster a positive IB learning community
• Ability to work as a team member within a department and in an interdisciplinary team
• Commitment to the IB standards and practices and to the IB Learner Profile
• Superior communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills 

Preferred:

• Experience in an international or multicultural school
• Experience of working with students who have English as an Additional Language
