ROLE SUMMARY:

St Louis School – Archinto campus, part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking a talented, well-qualified, and inspirational IB Diploma Programme (DP) English Teacher to cover a maternity leave from February 2026.

 

The successful candidate will teach IB DP English and contribute to the ongoing development of the English Department within a dynamic, internationally minded IB World School. This is a fixed-term appointment offering the opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team that places students at the centre of every decision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in IB DP English, ensuring lessons are engaging, inquiry-based, and meet IB standards.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for IB external assessments and support them in achieving outstanding academic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the English Department and across disciplines to enhance curriculum design and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide targeted support for students whose first language is not English.
  • Participate fully in school life, including meetings, professional development, and relevant extracurricular activities.
  • Uphold and model the values of the IB Learner Profile and the Inspired Education ethos.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential:

  • Legal right to live and work in Italy or an EU passport.
  • Degree in English, Literature, or a closely related field and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of two years’ teaching experience, including proven success preparing students for IB external examinations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IB Diploma Programme English curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment and supporting multilingual learners.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in an international or multicultural school setting.
  • Specific expertise or prior success delivering IB DP English.
  • Familiarity with English as an Additional Language (EAL) strategies.
