ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King's College Soto de Viñeulas is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Media Teacher to join our Secondary and Sixth Form team for an immediate start. The successful candidate will teach Media Studies across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, inspiring students to explore media, film, and digital communication through creative and analytical learning experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Media Studies in line with the UK National Curriculum and exam board specifications.

    • Plan, prepare, and assess schemes of work for GCSE and A-Level Media Studies.

    • Use data effectively to monitor student progress and adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs.

    • Provide regular feedback to students and parents, including written reports and parent meetings.

    • Support the pastoral development of students as a form tutor, promoting wellbeing and a positive school culture.

    • Contribute to departmental development and enrichment opportunities, such as clubs, media projects, and school productions.

    • Participate fully in staff meetings, professional development, and wider school life.

    • Uphold the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour policies at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Media, English, Film, or a related field.

    • QTS or equivalent international teaching qualification.

    • Experience teaching Media Studies at GCSE and/or A Level (UK or international setting).

    • Strong subject knowledge and ability to inspire and motivate students.

    • Excellent communication, organisation, and digital literacy skills.

    • Commitment to safeguarding and the school’s ethos of academic and personal excellence.
