School HR Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Wingate School (TWS) is an accredited Cambridge International School and an IB World School in Mexico City that offers an educational programme focussed on academic excellence, creativity and human formation. TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kindergarten, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. The school is a member of the Latin American Heads Conference, was awarded the Foundation Level of British Council’s International School Award and was recently named "One of the 10 best international schools in Latin America" by The Knowledge Review.

We are looking for an exceptional HR Manager who brings creativity, a forward-thinking attitude that can join our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support teaching staff with HR-related needs, providing timely and professional assistance
• Process and verify pre-payroll in line with school policies and Mexican labor laws
• Work with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on personnel matters, offering HR guidance
• Act as the link with the central recruitment team and assist in hiring key staff
• Handle all employee administration tasks, including onboarding, offboarding, contrats and documentation 
• Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws, especially for expatriate staff, supporting their migration and rellocation processes
• Attend staff meetings to report on HR issues and staffing updates
• Mantain accurate, secure and confidential HR records
• Help develop and implement HR policies that reflect the school's values and goals
• Contribute to school life by promoting a positive work culture, supporting events, and encouraging inclusion and respect 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• 7+ years of HR generalist experience, including recruitment, labor relations, personnel management, organizational development, compensation and pre-payroll+
• Degree in Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, International Business, or a related field
• Fluent in English and Spanish; able to work in a bilingual, multicultural setting
• Experience in a fast-growing or transitioning organizations, with the ability to lead cultual and operational change alongside senior leadership
• Comfortable working independently as the on-campus HR lead, while collaborating with a regional team
• Proactive and possitive attitude, with strong problem-solving and change management skills
• Knowledge of Mexican labor laws and experience with expatriate staff and immigration processes
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work well with senior leaders and key stakeholders
• Skilled at juggling multiple priorities while ensuring HR practices support the school's mission
• Must be available to work fully onsite at the Wingate School located in Huixquilucan
