ROLE SUMMARY:
The Wingate School (TWS) is an Inspired Education Group school located in Mexico City and an accredited Cambridge International School and IB World School that offers an educational programme focused on academic excellence, creativity, and human formation.
TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kinder, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE Curriculum, as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The school is a member of the Latin American Heads Conference, was awarded the Foundation Level of the British Council’s International School Award, and was recently named “One of the 10 Best International Schools in Latin America” by The Knowledge Review
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join our Secondary team in August 2026, teaching across IGCSE and IB levels. The successful candidate will inspire students to think creatively and critically, fostering practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of design processes through hands-on learning and technological innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Design and Technology following the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme frameworks.
- Foster students’ creativity, innovation, and independent thinking through practical design challenges and real-world applications.
- Teach a range of topics such as product design, digital design, materials technology, and sustainable innovation.
- Guide students in the use of design software, workshop tools, and prototyping equipment, ensuring safety and proper use.
- Develop and implement assessments that measure both theoretical understanding and practical competence.
- Differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback and reporting.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and align teaching practices.
- Encourage participation in design exhibitions, competitions, and extracurricular projects that showcase student creativity.
- Support the broader life of the school by contributing to events, clubs, and community activities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A degree in Design and Technology, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at IGCSE and/or IB levels.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and digital tools (e.g., CAD/CAM, 3D modeling software).
- A student-centered approach that fosters inquiry, innovation, and independent learning.
- Excellent organizational and classroom management skills.
- A collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
- Fluency in English (native or near-native level).
- Enthusiasm for living and working in Latin America and contributing to an international school environment.
