ROLE SUMMARY:

The Wingate School (TWS) is an Inspired Education Group school located in Mexico City and an accredited Cambridge International School and IB World School that offers an educational programme focused on academic excellence, creativity, and human formation.

TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kinder, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. The school is a member of the Latin American Heads Conference, was awarded the Foundation Level of the British Council’s International School Award, and was recently named “One of the 10 best international schools in Latin America” by The Knowledge Review.

 

Our team is growing, and we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated IB Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic Secondary team in August 2026. The successful candidate will foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding, empowering students to see mathematics as both a creative and analytical discipline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation and/or Analysis and Approaches, aligned with the IB Diploma Programme framework.
  • Inspire students to engage with mathematical concepts through inquiry, real-world application, and interdisciplinary connections.
  • Support students in developing confidence, resilience, and curiosity in mathematics.
  • Guide students through Internal Assessments and prepare them effectively for external examinations.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress using clear and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching strategies within the Mathematics Department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote cross-curricular learning.
  • Participate in school events, professional development sessions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Promote The Wingate School’s values of respect, integrity, and global citizenship.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics at IB Diploma level (Applications & Interpretation and/or Analysis & Approaches).
  • Experience with Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics or similar curricula is desirable.
  • A deep understanding of mathematical inquiry and the IB philosophy.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and ability to make mathematics engaging and relevant.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative and reflective approach to teaching and learning.
  • Fluency in English (native or near-native level).
  • Enthusiasm for living and working in Latin America and contributing to a multicultural environment.
