ROLE SUMMARY:
The Wingate School (TWS) is an Inspired Education Group school located in Mexico City and an accredited Cambridge International School and IB World School that offers an educational programme focused on academic excellence, creativity, and human formation.
TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kinder, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. The school is a member of the Latin American Heads Conference, was awarded the Foundation Level of the British Council’s International School Award, and was recently named “One of the 10 best international schools in Latin America” by The Knowledge Review.
Our team is growing, and we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated IB Biology Teacher to join our dynamic team in August 2026. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across the IB Diploma Programme (DP), fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of biological sciences. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Biology lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports student wellbeing and academic excellence.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners and promote inquiry-based learning.
- Design and assess practical laboratory work in line with IB requirements and safety standards.
- Track, assess, and report on student progress in accordance with school and IB policies.
- Actively participate in departmental planning, moderation, and curriculum development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, trips, and events.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including IB training and Inspired learning opportunities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A teaching qualification (PGCE, teaching license, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching IB Biology at Diploma Programme level (strongly preferred).
- A solid understanding of IB philosophy, assessment criteria, and inquiry-based pedagogy.
- Experience working in an international or bilingual school environment.
- Strong classroom management skills and a student-centred approach to teaching.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- High levels of professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Fluency in English (Spanish is an advantage).
