ROLE SUMMARY:
The Wingate School (TWS) is an accredited Cambridge International School and an IB World School in Mexico City that offers an educational programme focussed on academic excellence, creativity and human formation. TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kinder, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. The school is a member of the Latin American Heads Conference, was awarded the Foundation Level of British Council’s International School Award and was recently named "One of the 10 best international schools in Latin America" by The Knowledge Review.
We are looking to appoint a Primary 5° Homeroom Teacher who can join our team from August 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across core subjects, fostering academic growth and curiosity
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that supports student well-being and learning
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using a variety of tools to inform instruction and provide feedback
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student development and classroom activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and ensure curriculum alignment
- Support the social and emotional development of students through daily interactions and structured activities
- Participate actively in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
- Model and reinforce the school’s values and behavior expectations consistently in all classroom activities
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- First-language English speakers, preferably with knowledge of the British and/or IPC curriculum
- A child-centred approach
- Upper Primary experience and PGCE or equivalent
- Full-time school teaching experience
- A cheerful, professional, hard-working and well-presented person, capable of inspiring confidence in pupils and parents
- An awareness of the demands of teaching an international student body and a commitment to fostering high academic achievement
- Good communication and ICT skills
- Calmness and efficiency, with the ability to work under pressure at times
- Someone excited by the prospect of living in Latin America
