ROLE SUMMARY:

The Wingate School (TWS) is an Inspired Education Group school located in Mexico City and an accredited Cambridge International School and an IB World School in Mexico City that offers an educational programme focused on academic excellence, creativity and human formation. 

TWS teaches the International Early Years Curriculum in Kinder, the International Primary Curriculum, and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum. The school is a member of the Latin American Heads Conference, was awarded the Foundation Level of British Council’s International School Award and was recently named "One of the 10 best international schools in Latin America" by The Knowledge Review.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high-quality medical care to students and staff, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Maintain and update student medical records in line with school policies and local regulations.
  • Administer prescribed medications safely and monitor student health conditions.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies on campus.
  • Develop and implement health care plans for students with chronic or specific medical needs.
  • Promote health education and wellbeing initiatives within the school community.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
  • Liaise with parents, external healthcare providers, and school leadership regarding student health matters.
  • Support infection control measures and monitor communicable diseases within the school.
  • Contribute to school trips and events by providing medical support and risk assessments where required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Qualified medical doctor with a valid license to practice in Mexico.
  • Proven experience in paediatrics, family medicine, or school health (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of child health, safeguarding, and emergency care.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (required) and Spanish (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Up-to-date certifications in First Aid and Basic/Advanced Life Support.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Experience working in an international or educational environment (desirable).
  • A proactive, empathetic, and student-centred approach to care.
