ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King's College School Soto de Viñuelas is seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to support our Early Years and Primary teams. Working under the guidance of the Head of Early Years, you will help deliver high-quality learning experiences, support pupil achievement, and promote independence. This role involves assisting teachers in classroom management, pupil engagement, and contributing to whole-school development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support pupils and staff in delivering the curriculum effectively, including those with additional learning needs.

  • Assist in planning, assessment, and monitoring of pupil progress.

  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

  • Support inclusive learning by encouraging participation in academic and extracurricular activities.

  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.

  • Help maintain a stimulating, safe, and organised learning environment.

  • Communicate sensitively with pupils to tailor support to their needs.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to share knowledge and inform decision-making.

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.

  • Experience or interest in Early Years or Primary education.

  • Understanding of how to support pupils with diverse needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Commitment to maintaining the school’s ethos and safeguarding policies.

  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to supporting both pupils and staff.
