ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College School La Moraleja, a flagship Inspired school located in Madrid’s most exclusive neighbourhood, is seeking a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of French and Spanish to join our Upper School team (ages 10–16).

This is a teaching role designed to foster a love of languages while ensuring excellence in academic delivery and student outcomes. You will contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking team, delivering lessons up to and including public examination classes (Pearson Edexcel IGCSE).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in French and Spanish to students aged 10–16.

  • Develop and implement an innovative, challenging and supportive curriculum.

  • Model best practices in teaching, learning, and classroom management.

  • Support academic and pastoral development as a form tutor and mentor.

  • Collaborate with the Head of MFL to ensure consistency and excellence across the department.

  • Ensure alignment with the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour and academic policies.

  • Engage actively in professional development and quality assurance initiatives.

  • Participate in enrichment activities, duty rotas, and cover as required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching French and Spanish in British curriculum schools, ideally to IGCSE level

  • A track record of excellent classroom teaching and strong academic outcomes

  • Skills in curriculum planning, assessment, and data-driven teaching

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills

  • A commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and professional development

  • Confidence with educational technology and digital tools
