ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College, world-renowned for academic excellence and student leadership, is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspiring and ambitious professional to the position of Secondary Teacher of Science for a maternity leave to join our teaching team on a temporary basis in January/February 2025.

 

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed teachers who would like to join our school located in the beautiful city of Madrid.

Rated “Excellent” in all areas in our recent Penta inspection, we have an exciting opportunity for a  Science teacher to join our highly successful team. We are seeking to appoint a flexible and creative practitioner with excellent subject knowledge and effective interpersonal skills, committed to building strong working relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.

 

Applicants must be eligible to work in the EU and be fluent in English.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To act as a role model for teaching and learning,

  • To continue to develop own expertise in their subject and the art of teaching
  • Provide a sustained and consistent collaborative contribution to the wider work of the school, either internally or outside the school
  • Proactively seek, create and lead on opportunities that have a demonstrably positive impact on creating an outstanding learning environment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Experience of teaching KS3 science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
  • Experience of teaching on or more of the sciences at IGCSE/GCSE level
  • Independent sector or international experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent working knowledge of the English National Curriculum, the IB Diploma and recent developments
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
  • Knowledge of Spanish, or willingness to learn Spanish would be an advantage
