ROLE SUMMARY:

 

The British Council School, part of Inspired Education Group, is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our committed and forward-thinking team in Madrid.

We are looking for a teacher with a passion for inspiring young minds and a strong track record of delivering high-quality science education within the British curriculum. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and the development of a lifelong love of learning.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the secondary school, with the ability to teach at IGCSE and A Level (or equivalent).

  • Foster curiosity, creativity and critical thinking in the classroom.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities, clubs, and enrichment opportunities.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency of teaching, learning and assessment practices.

  • Support the school’s ethos of internationalism, innovation and academic ambition.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

  • Degree in a science-related subject.

  • Proven experience teaching Science within the British curriculum.

  • Experience in delivering IGCSE is essential; A Level/IB experience is highly desirable.

  • Excellent subject knowledge, communication skills, and classroom management.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a genuine passion for education.
