ROLE SUMMARY:
The British School of Madrid is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our team. You will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 (English National Curriculum) and Key Stage 5 (Bilingual Baccalaureate - BiBac®), supporting students to achieve their academic potential and develop as confident, global citizens. We are looking for a teacher who brings Mathematics to life beyond the classroom, fostering practical and engaging experiences in the subject.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver high-quality, well-structured Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3–5.

Inspire, motivate, and challenge students to achieve excellent academic outcomes.

Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, supporting lower-ability students and challenging higher-ability students.

Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform lesson planning.

Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.

Serve as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting students’ personal and academic development.

Contribute to the development of the Mathematics department and wider school initiatives.

Collaborate with colleagues to uphold the school’s Outstanding standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent, with a strong academic background in Mathematics.

Experience teaching Key Stage 3, 4, and ideally Key Stage 5, with knowledge of the English National Curriculum and/or BiBac®.

Excellent classroom management skills, engaging and challenging students effectively.

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Mathematics in an innovative and practical way.

Excellent communication skills in English, with a commitment to learning Spanish.

A collaborative, proactive approach and dedication to student development, both academically and personally.
