ROLE SUMMARY:
The British School of Madrid is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Secondary Chemistry Teacher to teach across Key Stage 3, 4 (English National Curriculum) and Key Stage 5 (Bilingual Baccalaureate – BiBac®). The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons, support students’ academic and personal development, and contribute to maintaining the school’s Outstanding BSO rating.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Chemistry lessons across KS3–KS5.

Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge.

Inspire, motivate and challenge students, ensuring excellent progress and outcomes.

Use assessment effectively to guide learning and provide meaningful feedback.

Adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs and ensure inclusivity.

Maintain a positive, safe and well-managed learning environment.

Act as a form tutor, providing high standards of pastoral care and communication.

Enhance the Chemistry curriculum with practical, real-world scientific experiences.

Contribute to wider school duties and uphold professional expectations.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Completed teacher training with relevant experience in a UK, international or bilingual school.

Recent and relevant professional development in Teaching & Learning.

Excellent classroom management, differentiation and assessment skills.

Strong subject expertise in Chemistry and proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline, plus PGCE/QTS (or equivalent).

English at first-language or equivalent proficiency and commitment to learning Spanish.
