ROLE SUMMARY:

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teacher with a specialism in Physical Education to join our thriving British school in Madrid from late August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic educator who is passionate about promoting physical wellbeing, teamwork and sporting excellence within a supportive and high-achieving international environment.

 

Brief Description

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality PE lessons across the Primary phase, fostering a love of sport and healthy lifestyles while supporting pupils’ physical development and confidence. The role includes contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular sports provision and school events.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the English National Curriculum

  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress

  • Promote participation, teamwork and sportsmanship

  • Organise and lead extracurricular sports clubs and fixtures

  • Support whole-school events such as Sports Day and competitions

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and safeguarding

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the broader Primary curriculum

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Primary PE within a British curriculum setting

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for sport and physical education

  • The ability to inspire and motivate pupils of varying abilities

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
