ROLE SUMMARY:

 

The British School in Madrid is seeking an adaptable, committed, and enthusiastic Primary Cover Teacher to join our team with immediate start. This role is ideal for a flexible, skilled practitioner who can confidently deliver high-quality learning across different year groups within the Primary School.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the UK National Curriculum.

  • Provide high-quality cover across EYFS and Primary year groups as required.

  • Ensure continuity of learning through clear planning, feedback, and classroom management.

  • Support the pastoral needs and wellbeing of pupils.

  • Maintain a positive, orderly, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Uphold all school policies, including safeguarding and professional standards.

  • Support wider school duties as part of the Primary team.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching in a British curriculum Primary setting and high level of English. 

  • Strong classroom management and the ability to adapt teaching across age groups.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of all pupils.
