ROLE SUMMARY:
The British School, Madrid, a leading British international school, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive Pre-Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. The successful candidate will support the lead teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences, fostering curiosity, and promoting the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our youngest learners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the lead teacher in planning and delivering daily activities for Pre-Nursery children.

Assist with the care, supervision, and welfare of children in line with Early Years best practices.

Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.

Support children’s development in key areas including language, social skills, motor skills, and early numeracy.

Observe and record children’s progress and contribute to assessments as required.

Assist with daily routines such as snack times, hygiene, and classroom organization.

Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Support school policies regarding safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Previous experience working with young children (Pre-Nursery, Nursery, or Reception) is desirable.

Passion for Early Years education and child development.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards young children.

Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to child safety.

Ability to follow instructions, be proactive, and support classroom routines efficiently.
