ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College School Soto de Viñuelas is looking to appoint a flexible and reliable Secondary Cover Teacher to join the school from early November on a part-time basis.
The successful candidate will provide cover for secondary classes across a range of subjects, delivering lessons as part of both the UK academic curriculum and the IB programme.
We are looking for an adaptable teacher with excellent classroom management skills, strong communication skills and the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with students.
Fluent English is essential, as lessons will be delivered in English.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide cover for secondary classes across a range of subjects.

Deliver lessons in accordance with the UK curriculum and IB programmes.

Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by subject teachers and departments.

Maintain a positive, well-managed and productive learning environment.

Support students in completing assigned work and maintaining continuity of learning.

Adapt effectively to different subjects, year groups and classroom situations.

Monitor student engagement, behaviour and progress during lessons.

Provide appropriate feedback to relevant teaching staff following cover lessons.

Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour expectations.

Contribute positively to the wider school community.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Recognised teaching qualification or relevant teaching experience.

Previous experience working with secondary-aged students.

Experience in a British/international school environment would be advantageous.

Ability to work confidently within both the UK curriculum and IB framework.

Excellent spoken and written English is essential.

Flexible, adaptable and confident working across different subjects and year groups.

Professional, reliable and well organised.

Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
