ROLE SUMMARY:
A well-established international British school in Madrid is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-centred Teacher of Mathematics to join its successful secondary team. The role involves fostering a love of Mathematics, ensuring strong academic outcomes, and teaching up to and including Pearson Edexcel IGCSE examination classes. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and collaborative department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver engaging, high-quality Mathematics lessons across the secondary school.

Contribute to a positive departmental ethos with a strong sense of purpose and pride.

Support the implementation of rigorous quality-assurance processes to promote excellent teaching and learning.

Collaborate on curriculum development, departmental planning, and resource design.

Model outstanding classroom practice and help support colleagues’ professional growth.

Uphold whole-school policies related to safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety, and professional conduct.

Assist with wider school duties such as cover, cycle tests, and assemblies when required.

Ensure students meet or exceed progress and attainment targets.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Minimum of two years’ experience teaching the British National Curriculum (UK or international).

Proven record of strong classroom practice and positive academic results.

Strong understanding of assessment to guide planning and improve student learning.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Desirable: ability to teach Further Mathematics, experience in subject or key stage coordination, and relevant leadership-focused professional development.
