ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College Soto de Viñuelas is seeking an inspirational Head of Psychology to lead the department while also teaching Psychology at the secondary level. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher and leader to shape the curriculum, drive academic excellence, and support students in achieving their potential. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues across the school, providing both subject expertise and pastoral support to enhance student learning and engagement
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage the Psychology department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.

Teach Psychology to secondary students, delivering engaging and challenging lessons.

Plan, assess, and monitor student progress, using data to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

Foster a love of learning and encourage independent thinking and academic curiosity.

Maintain strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, supporting the holistic development of pupils.

Contribute to whole-school initiatives, professional development, and departmental planning.

Promote inclusion and support students with diverse learning needs
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
- Have experience teaching Psychology at IGCSE, A Level, or IB Diploma level.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and departmental management skills.
- Be able to motivate, inspire, and engage students of varying abilities.
- Have a track record of raising achievement and delivering excellent academic results.
- Be committed to continuous professional development and collaborative school improvement
