Head of Accounts Receivable & AI Transformation

ROLE SUMMARY:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional who combines strong billing and collections expertise with a genuine passion for technology, business intelligence and artificial intelligence.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, Spain, and based in the Madrid Head Office, the successful candidate will lead the Billing and Collections function while acting as a key driver of innovation, automation and AI adoption within the department.

The role will oversee a team of 10 professionals (2 direct reports and 8 indirect reports) and will be responsible for modernizing processes, improving reporting capabilities, developing dashboards and identifying opportunities to leverage AI to increase efficiency, enhance decision-making and improve customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the Billing and Collections function across Inspired Education Spain.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of 10 professionals through 2 direct managers.
• Oversee end-to-end billing and collections processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and service excellence.
• Monitor KPIs, service levels, cash collection performance and operational effectiveness.
• Design, develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools and performance metrics.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual processes.
• Lead the adoption of AI-driven solutions within billing and collections operations.
• Explore the use of emerging technologies to improve productivity, reporting, forecasting and decision-making.
• Partner with Finance, Admissions, and School Leadership teams to improve business processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, workflows and customer-facing processes.
• Support the implementation of new technologies and ensure successful change management across the team.
• Produce insightful reporting and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Significant experience leading billing, collections or accounts receivable
• Previous management experience with responsibility for developing and leading teams.
• Strong understanding of billing processes, collections, customer accounts and revenue operations.
• A strong interest in technology, automation and artificial intelligence, with a desire to develop and apply these tools to real business challenges.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, KPIs and business intelligence solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, innovative and highly organized approach.
• The ability to translate business needs into scalable operational and technology solutions.
• Very high English proficiency.
• Experience with ERP and finance systems.
• Knowledge of AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, Power BI or similar business intelligence solutions would be highly advantageous.
