ROLE SUMMARY:
Kensington School, Madrid, a prestigious British international school with over 50 years’ history, is seeking a dynamic and forward-looking Economics Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and inspirational team, delivering IGCSE and IB Economics while contributing to a thriving academic environment. The ability to teach Maths and/or Business Studies is an advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver high-quality Economics lessons across KS3–5, including IGCSE and IB.

Support the teaching of Maths and/or Business Studies where required.

Monitor and support student progress, ensuring all pupils reach their potential.

Create an engaging, motivating, and safe learning environment.

Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and departmental initiatives.

Serve as a form tutor and support the pastoral development of students.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Participate in staff development, performance reviews, and school-wide initiatives.

Support the wider school community through extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant undergraduate degree.

Successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally in Economics at IGCSE and IB levels.

Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies and curriculum requirements for KS3–5.

Excellent planning, assessment, and organisational skills.

Strong ICT skills and ability to integrate technology into learning.

Ability to motivate and inspire students, raising aspirations and achievement.

Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.

Collaborative, proactive, and professional approach to work.
