ROLE SUMMARY:

 

The British School in Madrid, a well-established and respected international school offering the English National Curriculum, is seeking a dedicated and passionate EYFS Teacher to join our Early Years team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a nurturing and vibrant learning environment that values creativity, curiosity, and high-quality early years education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, child-centred lessons following the EYFS framework.

  • Create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development through play-based learning.

  • Use formative assessment to monitor progress and inform next steps.

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.

  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers regarding children’s development.

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.

  • Contribute to wider school life and early years events as needed.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS or equivalent).

  • Proven experience teaching in an EYFS setting within the British curriculum.

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in English (native or near-native level).

  • A flexible, nurturing, and collaborative approach to teaching.
