ROLE SUMMARY:

The International School of Ticino is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Biology & Chemistry Teacher to join the School from August 2026.

The successful candidate will teach Sciences across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and, where appropriate, the Diploma Programme (DP), with a focus on Biology and Chemistry. The role requires a flexible and reflective practitioner who can deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons and support students across a range of abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach Biology and Chemistry across IB MYP and DP
Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based and practical Science lessons
Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments
Support the development of scientific thinking, investigation and analytical skills
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental collaboration
Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and classroom practice
Engage positively with parents and the wider school community
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities
Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential

A degree in Biology, Chemistry or a related scientific field
A recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge across Biology and Chemistry
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A collaborative and student-centred approach
EU passport (essential requirement)

Desirable

Experience teaching IB MYP and/or DP Sciences
Ability to teach both Biology and Chemistry to a high level
Experience in an international or multilingual school setting
Familiarity with IB assessment practices
Ability to contribute to extracurricular science activities
