ROLE SUMMARY:

Chepstow House School are currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team immediately. This role would suit a recent graduate looking to do a PGCE course in the future.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work within a Year group team to maintain an innovative, dynamic and high achieving setting. They will also need to interact and support children in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning. A willingness to contribute fully to the extra-curricular activities and life of the school is vital.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact and support children (under direction of the teacher) in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning
  • To work with class teacher in preparing work, putting up displays and assisting as required within the classroom
  • Supervising breaks and lunch time play
  • To take responsibility for hearing the children read on a daily basis, updating their reading records and monitoring their progress
  • To conduct lessons(if required) according to the agreed policy and syllabus
  • To contribute fully to the extra curricular activities and life of the school

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

A degree qualification or teaching qualification is essential for this role. This post would suit a graduate looking for school based experience before furthering their career in the teaching profession.
