Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer (OR SME)

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer to help with the design, implementation, and management of our global IT network and infrastructure. This role will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end network architecture, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability across our 120+ schools worldwide. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide BAU support, assist with the network strategy, and manage various infrastructure-related responsibilities, including cloud services, device management, and office IT support. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced network professional with expertise in Cisco Meraki (our primary networking solution), as well as experience with Fortinet and other leading networking technologies. They will also have a strong grasp of IT infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, cloud platforms (Azure & AWS), SSL management, and MDM solutions. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Network Design & Management: Design, configure, and maintain the global network infrastructure, ensuring scalability and 99.9% uptime.
• Cisco Meraki & Fortinet Administration: Manage and optimize Cisco Meraki environments and Fortinet firewalls, including SD-WAN and security solutions.
• Network Security & Compliance: Implement security policies, firewall rules, and Zero Trust principles while ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
• Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Oversee Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure, and AWS services, optimizing performance and security.
• VPN & Remote Access: Design and manage secure VPN solutions for staff and implement IAM and SSO configurations.
• Network Performance & Risk Management: Conduct capacity planning, risk assessments, and vulnerability remediation to maintain optimal performance.
• Automation & Efficiency: Drive automation of network management tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
• Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery: Develop and test disaster recovery strategies to ensure minimal downtime in case of failures.
• IT Support & Asset Management: Provide IT support for the London head office, manage asset inventory, and oversee new device deployments.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work with third-party vendors and internal IT teams while mentoring junior engineers and supporting AV solutions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Experience: 5+ years in network engineering and infrastructure management across multiple locations.
• Networking Expertise: Strong knowledge of Cisco Meraki (wireless, switching, security) and Fortinet firewalls.
• Cloud & IT Systems: Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, Teams), and Google Workspace.
• Security & Compliance: Solid understanding of IT security principles, safeguarding technologies, and MDM solutions (Intune, Jamf).
• Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues.
• Project & Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Desirable Certifications: CCNP, Fortinet NSE4+, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
• Automation & VoIP: Experience with network automation, scripting, and VoIP solutions (SIP configurations).
