Salary: £36,000-£42,500

Do you want to help students make outstanding learning progress within a high-achieving department at one of the UK’s most innovative schools? King’s Interhigh is seeking 3 talented and ambitious Science Teachers to join our growing online school as we continue to expand our international provision. The successful candidates will deliver live online lessons from home in the UK, teaching General Science at Key Stage 3 and iGCSE Science at Key Stage 4 (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), with the ability to offer a Science subject at Key Stage 5 desirable. Experience of teaching the IB Diploma Programme would be advantageous. Working within a collaborative Science team and reporting to the Head of Subject, the postholder will contribute to high-quality online learning, support student engagement and academic progress, develop effective learning resources, and play an active role in delivering excellent educational experiences to students aged 7–18 across our global school community. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspire, motivate and provide purposeful subject knowledge for students within the school
• Be up to date on current research and emerging pedagogy and disseminate this to staff through active
engagement in professional development with the learning community
• Take a leading role in maintaining a positive and inspirational learning climate in the subject specialism
and, where appropriate, the integration of your subject learning across the curriculum
• Support the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness and the development of priorities for improvement
• Assist in maintaining and developing a high-quality school environment and profile and act as a role model
by their professional conduct and disposition
• Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and any class or group of students
• Provide guidance and advice to students on educational matters
• Provide or contribute to assessments, reports and references relating to students in a timely manner
• Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities 
• Undertake any other work as specified by their line manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

The candidate will be qualified to degree level in a related subject area and hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status.

  • Capability to drive best practice and deliver high-quality material
  • Ability to work collaboratively while contributing new ideas and supporting implementation within the department alongside Leaders of Learning
  • Strong interest in online teaching and learning, with a passion for student development
  • Flexible, energetic approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-changing, collaborative delivery culture
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build positive internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work independently when required while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Ambition to position King’s InterHigh at the forefront of the marketplace

 

Skills and attributes - Desirable

 

  • Current or previous experience in a pastoral role.
