The successful candidate will support and lead the operation and development of our services for students with special educational needs (SEN) and their families.

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of online and digital teaching methods and the range of needs present within our student cohort. They will be able to demonstrate expertise in how to support students with SEN, how to support and liaise with other professionals at scale, work systematically to provide high quality information and influence the practice of teachers. Reporting to the Head of SEN Services, the successful candidate will deliver support programmes or interventions and lead other leaders in matters related to additional needs provision.
The role is remote and will suit a professional with an eye for detail, an organised approach and commitment to delivering the absolute best for students and families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure our universal SEN offer runs effectively and efficiently, with excellent communication to students, families and colleagues about the range of support on offer.
• Build support for students that ensures we are inclusive by design and responsive to the specific needs of our students, through provision that is both impactful and scalable across growing school.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, managing queries and issues in line with procedures and working cross functionally to ensure other teams have access to SEN expertise.
• Make efficient use of systems to provide sufficiently detailed and pro-active advice to families and responses to external requests for reports or information.
• Ensure accurate information is held by the school on all SEN needs.
• To support the development of efficient and sustainable access arrangement approaches and support their implementation.
• Liaise with pastoral staff (Reflect tutors, YGC, HOKs) to ensure that SEN students are well supported by all staff and that staff in all other roles are empowered to be adaptive and responsive to parent or student queries
• To coordinate training and guidance for staff on areas relating to SEN to ensure students with SEN are clear on all the accessibility features of our setting and can participate in the full school experience.
• To signpost SEN support and advice pathways to families explicitly so it is straightforward to follow.
• Always uphold a culture of excellence and inclusion, role modelling a positive and ‘can-do’ attitude to others.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• QTS or equivalent, and other qualifications relevant to the role.
• A track record of delivering excellent outcomes and experiences for students with special educational needs and an ability to develop a deep understanding of student requirements in King’s InterHigh, and Inspired Online Schools.
• Experience of working in an SEN setting or significant experience of work with SEN young people and their families.
• Knowledge of the SEN landscape, regulations, SEND code of practice and deep understanding of core processes such as the graduated approach through assess, plan, do, review, EHCPs, and SEN funding streams
• Good knowledge of the current and future online learning landscape, and excellent communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Excellent leadership, and people development skills to achieve excellence for self and others.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection in relation to school systems and processes
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that showcase a dynamic and supportive stance to all stakeholders
• Attention to detail, confidence in handling data, and accuracy in work.
• Aspiration for the future success and growth of Inspired Online Schools, with an understanding of how operational efficiency will contribute to this.
• Excellent knowledge of school systems and processes and a high degree of technical competence in running school systems.
The successful candidate will directly report into the Head of SEN Services. There may be some teaching requirement within our SEN courses, however the candidate will be predominantly focused on the leadership of our SEN offer.
