ABOUT ACADEMY 21:

Are you interested in a more flexible yet permanent teaching role in one of the UK’s leading schools?

Does an innovative role, made possible through online learning, teaching vulnerable learners excite you?

Are you looking for a different working pattern that gives you more control, the chance to work remotely whilst still changing the lives of learners?

If so, our teaching roles are for you.

Academy21, part of Inspired Education, is a forward thinking and growing education organisation that is committed to staff welfare and exceptional professional development. We are driven to improve the lives of learners across the country. https://academy21.co.uk/

We are perhaps the most innovative employer in the sector and can reach more learners in need than most other organisations. As a growing organisation our student number increase over each academic year, unlike a traditional bricks and mortar schools, where the number of student and teachers remain broadly the same.

We offer permanent teaching roles under an Annualised Working Time contract – these roles come with full benefits, consistent and competitive monthly pay and excellent professional development.  The difference to a traditional teaching role - a more flexible work pattern with significant time off in term time.

How does it work?

Like all permanent teachers you will have a consistent, contracted FTE (full-time equivalent) that denotes how much you will work in a year compared to a full-time role. Traditionally you would work the same amount of time each week or month of the year, punctuated by school holidays.

With Annualised Working Time, rather than the same amount of working time (or lessons) per month or year, your working time is calculated in advance and will increase and decrease with our predictable enrolments.  Over the year will still work exactly what it would have done if you’d worked the same time each month you will just work less or not at all when we have fewer students enrolled and more when we are busier.

In some months, for example September, October and July, you will not work at all but still be paid.   This means through a combination of holiday and non-working time you could enjoy 4 months of non worked time, all paid.

This gives colleagues the flexibility to pursue other interests, which might include the ability to travel in term time, explore personal or professional development or take on other work, whilst in a secure role with an excellent employer.

If you are and excellent teacher, you are interested in working for the leading UK online school and you want more control over your time, please get in touch.
