Fulham Senior School are seeking a highly motivated, passionate and inspiring History teacher to join the school in January 2025. The role will be based at the Senior site. We are developing our facilities and curriculum, so there is a real opportunity to play a role in how our provision takes shape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote excellence in teaching and learning to ensure all pupils develop their potential and are equipped for life beyond school.
- Exemplify in own practice the skills of teaching and learning typified by lead professionals and ensure that good practice is shared throughout the department.
- Ensure that schemes of work are used, reviewed, and modified to enable the maintenance and development of high standards of teaching and learning.
- Monitor pupils’ work and the classroom practice of those in the department to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Keep up to date with developments in subject area and education in general to ensure that best practice is adopted within the department.
- Contribute to the broader life of the school by supporting and leading curricular and co-curricular events such as school productions and activity days.
- Advising and co-operating with the Exec Team and other teachers on the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, teaching methods and assessment and pastoral arrangements.

- Skills and previous experience
Essential
- Experience of teaching KS4 and KS5 Humanities
- Demonstratable interest and expertise in their subject area
- Experience in the preparation of pupils for external assessment
- Experience in pastoral care and pupil wellbeing
- Confidence with use of ICT in teaching
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills – ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload
Desirable
- Experience of teaching IB Humanities
Qualifications and Accreditations
- University degree in Humanities fand/or in a related subject
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent
- Strong academic credentials
- Appropriate right to work
